South and west of G 4720
Work continued in street south and west of G 4720 clearing sand debris. One fragment of limestone low relief with color found in debris southeast.

G 4710
Work continued on pit in G 4710 reaching a depth of about 10 meters, all sand debris.

Mr. Bates here to lunch. Mr. J. Templeman Coolidge Jr. and two friends taken through the work in p.m. and shown our office and storerooms; staying to tea.

South and southwest of G 4720
Work finished in street south of G 4720. Sand debris running to solid rock.
Work continued southwest of G 4720 removing sand debris.

G 4710
Work finished on pit No. G 4710 (12.5 meters), exposing door of well-built masonry on south side. Sand and limestone debris with a few well-polished pottery fragments, and one fragment of a small alabaster foot [14-3-17].

G 4720
Work started on pit No. G 4720 to a depth of about 8 meters with sand debris.

G 4710
Pit and chamber No. G 4710 finished. Chamber rectangular in solid rock, containing smooth white limestone sarcophagus uninscribed, at west side of chamber lying north and south. Cover broken on ground as per diagram [ILLUSTRATION]. Cubical in southeast corner.

G 4720
Work continued on pit No. G 4720 removing hard debris. Depth about 9 meters.

G 4710
Work continued on street west of G 4710 removing sand debris. Direct line of dump stopped. Branch to northwest started about 80 meters to east of western extremity. See diagram [ILLUSTRATION].
