Noteworthy in the above sketch plan of the area east and south of the Great Pyramid are mastabas 11 and 12. "No. 11" (Mariette, Mastabas, page 533) belong to [GLYPHS] [Snefrukhaf]. His text begins with the name of Nefretkau, described as daughter of [TRANSLITERATION] [Snefru]. The family tree is given:

The inscription of No. 12 (Mariette, page 531) begins [GLYPHS] [Snefru] (Mariette does not give spelling of cartouche.)
The presence of these two mastabas here, near G I-d, together with G 7710 and the cartouche in G 7510 interior chapel, points to the exodus from Meidum shortly after Snefru's death having been towards Giza where Khufu was planning his necropolis. (c.f. Maspero "Dawn of Civilization" pages 358 - 362).
The reason for No. 19 being situated south of the rest of this "street" 1 - 9 is not yet known. It is opposite the center axis north-south of the Great Pyramid. The mastabas of this "street" have not been cleared.
It is noteworthy that the family and nobles of the King were buried near him and not near the King who was reigning when they died. Thus most of the cemetery G 7000 nobles are contemporary with Khafre. Many of the courtiers of Snefru are buried at Giza.
